Caesar Attard’s Life & Passion Series – A Critical Study of Dialogues With the Artist – An Analysis of the Visual Struggles, Risks & Metaphors

This project deals with a series of drawings which eventually ended up as a set of etchings entitled LIFE AND PASSION (1992). The works when studied individually and collectively are images that challenge the viewer on many levels in their reading. They are also works that challenge traditional iconography of the subject inspired from the sacred scriptures. The study offers the history of this series from drawings to etchings, the originality in their conceptions, and their eventual transformation in recent digital interpretations.
